Find the hidden entrance to the Church of Our Lady before Týn, the twin-towered Gothic landmark on Old Town Square. Step inside to see the baroque altarpiece and hear the organ if you arrive near mass.

📖

Full description

The Church of Our Lady before Týn is a Gothic church on Old Town Square, built mainly in the 14th and 15th centuries and recognisable by its twin towers about 80 metres tall. In the 15th century it became an important Hussite church, and inside there is a baroque altarpiece among darker Gothic surroundings.

Entry is free, but access is limited: hours are short and it is closed on Mondays. The entrance is hard to find, set in a small alley between the buildings fronting the square.

Photography is not allowed inside, and visitors sometimes catch organ music before mass.

Reviews

A beautiful church, no photography allowed inside. It can be difficult to find the entrance, it's a small alley in between the buildings. Free entry and they sell post card pictures as well.
