Episcopal Palace of Porto

4.4 ·

Step inside the Episcopal Palace of Porto, the grand hilltop home of the city's former bishops. Wander its rococo-detailed rooms and artefact displays in about 20 minutes before enjoying the views beside the cathedral.

📖

Full description

The Episcopal Palace of Porto stands on the hill next to the cathedral, a large residence once home to the city's bishops. Visitors walk through elegantly decorated rooms where hundreds of artefacts are displayed, set within an imposing building known for its rococo details.

A visit is short, around 20 minutes, and reviewers note it can be remarkably quiet, sometimes with whole rooms to yourself. It pairs naturally with the cathedral next door via a joint ticket, and the surrounding terraces add pleasant views across Porto.

Reviews

To be honest - you should have a short visit. It’s a cute place in combination with the cathedral next door. The combined price is 7 EUR and therefore really not expensive. The views are nice too. Also in this case I do not understand why the cashier cannot be friendly…
