The Conciergerie is a former royal palace in the Palais de la Cité, notable for its Gothic architecture, including the royal kitchens and grand medieval halls. During the French Revolution it served as a courthouse and prison, most famously holding Marie-Antoinette before her execution.

Visitors can see the cell area, learn about revolutionary prison life, and use a Histopad for added historical context. It is a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Reviews

An interesting place but don’t really have too many things to see. The iPad seemed nice but it stopped distributing at about 4:30 pm so I didn’t get one. But generally nice, demonstrated some good stories about Marie Antoinette, worth going.
