Discover the Musée d'Archéologie de Nice on the site of ancient Cemenelum. See marble statues, coins and excavated finds, try the interactive exhibits, then step outside to walk the Roman ruins.
Full description
Built on the Gallo-Roman hilltop city of Cemenelum in Cimiez, this museum presents statues, coins and objects recovered during excavations, including a tall marble statue of Antonia Minor. Some displays are interactive, such as a scent exhibit evoking ancient smells, and the Roman amphitheatre and ruins can be seen on the same complex it shares with the Matisse Museum.
Admission is free, and it is also included in the museum pass covering Nice's municipal museums. About 45 minutes covers the interior, leaving time to walk the ruins outside.

My Wife knows I am a major enthusiast of everything related to ancient Rome so she took me here 🥰. The museum contains numerous interesting artifacts and fun interactive exhibitions (like smelling ancient recipes). Well worth a visit🏛️.
