Justizpalast München

4.6 ·

Slip inside the Justizpalast, a working government building with a staircase that visitors rave about. Pass through security, take photos of the interior and circle the exterior before moving on.

📖

Full description

The Justizpalast is the official seat of the Bavarian Ministry of Justice in Munich, and its main draw for visitors is the grand staircase that reviewers say wraps around you as you enter. Photography inside is possible, but entry requires passing a tight security check, and public access hours are short, with the building closed on Saturdays.

Several visitors admire the exterior as well and suggest pairing it with a walk to nearby sights. Plan roughly 15 minutes and aim for the morning, when it is most likely to be open.

Good to know

  • Arrive before mid-afternoon, as weekday hours end at 15:00 and Saturday it is closed
  • expect a security check at the entrance
  • walk around the exterior too, since the facade is worth seeing even if the interior is shut.

Reviews

Awesome and unique staircase that just surrounds you. You will need to go through tight security. Pay attention to the access hours since they are short.
