Discover NoLo, the creative, multicultural quarter north of Loreto that locals love. Wander streets of murals and independent cafés, then end the day with a drink on a neighbourhood terrace.
Full description
NoLo takes its name from 'North of Loreto', a once-overlooked part of Milan that has become one of the city's most talked-about up-and-coming neighbourhoods. The area around Via Padova and Piazza Morbegno mixes immigrant-run shops and restaurants with independent cafés, craft bars, small galleries and street art.
Rents were low enough to attract artists and young creatives, which gave the district its relaxed, community-driven character. It feels distinctly local and unpolished compared with the central districts, and it is best enjoyed in the late afternoon and evening when the bars and terraces fill up.
