Step into Chiesa di San Fedele, a spacious Jesuit church just steps from the Duomo. Take a quiet moment among its paintings and relics, with a crypt to explore below.

📖

Full description

San Fedele is a Jesuit church close to the Duomo and the Galleria, rebuilt from the late 16th century on the site of a much older church dedicated to Santa Maria in Solariolo. Its spacious interior holds paintings and relics, with a crypt below, and visitors describe it as an ideal place to find peace after the main tourist sights.

Volunteers have been noted as happy to talk about the artworks. Entry is free, a visit takes about 15 minutes, and the church closes in the late afternoon, so it is best seen earlier in the day.
