Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II

Walk through the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, Milan's grand glass-covered arcade beside the Duomo. Admire the dome and mosaics, window-shop the boutiques, and stop for a coffee in one of the historic cafés.

📖

Full description

The Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II is a covered 19th-century arcade beneath soaring glass domes, filled with fashion brands and upscale dining. Reviewers rank it among the most beautiful structures they have seen, and say the architecture alone is worth the visit even if you do not shop.

It is open at all hours, but gets very busy later in the day, so many suggest going early in the morning. It sits right next to the Duomo, making it a natural pairing, and a stroll takes about 30 minutes.

Reviews

The Galleria is an iconic place and definitely worth visiting. I would recommend going very early in the morning, as it gets incredibly busy later in the day. It’s also a lovely place for shopping. I visited Fendi and bought a bag there, and the service was excellent—very friendly and attentive.
