Discover Basilica di Sant'Eustorgio, a quiet Romanesque church with a surprising artistic core. Step inside to see the Portinari Chapel frescoes, the Three Kings sarcophagus and the attached museum.

📖

Full description

Sant'Eustorgio is an old Romanesque-style church whose plain exterior hides richly decorated interiors. Its best-known feature is the Portinari Chapel, praised by visitors for its frescoes, and an attached museum adds further depth to the visit.

The basilica is also linked to the Three Kings tradition, with the sarcophagus that once held the relics of the Magi before they were taken to Cologne. Reviewers describe a peaceful atmosphere and rate it among their favourites in Milan.

A visit takes about 30 minutes, longer if you include the museum, and a small entrance fee applies for parts of the complex.

Reviews

Fantastic church and museum. Favorite in Milan. Don’t miss it! At least on March 19, open ALL day, no pausa.
