Slow down at Parque Enrique Tierno Galván, a spacious green escape in Arganzuela. Stroll past the pond and fountains, watch the ducks, and catch city views from the park's higher stretches.
Full description
Parque Enrique Tierno Galván is a large green space in the Arganzuela district, laid out with a pond, fountains and gardens and home to Madrid's planetarium. Reviewers describe a calm, spacious atmosphere that feels quieter than the city's better-known parks.
Softer ground than concrete makes it popular with runners, while cyclists, families and people simply sitting by the water share the paths. Some stretches open onto views over the city, and ducks on the pond add a relaxed touch.
It is open around the clock and free to enter, suiting an unhurried hour outdoors.
