Casa Revuelta

4.4 ·

Stop by Casa Revuelta, the classic Centro tapas bar known for its fried cod. Squeeze in at the bar for a golden tajada de bacalao, a gilda and a cold drink alongside Madrid regulars.

📖

Full description

Casa Revuelta is a traditional tapas bar in central Madrid that reviewers call quintessential: classic recipes, served in the classic way, to a largely local crowd. Its renowned dish is the tajada de bacalao, a fried cod portion described as perfectly cooked and juicy, with gildas and cold drinks as the usual accompaniments.

Some visitors use it as a calmer alternative to nearby Casa Labra, though queues still form. Rated 4.4 from nearly 7,000 reviews at mid-range prices, it is designed for a short stop of around half an hour rather than a full meal.

Reviews

We arrived at opening and got a seat. The cod was perfectly fried and juicy. My only complaint is that it is a little salty for my taste. The gildas were good and drinks cold. A nice quick snack!
