Food
Miga sets itself apart from typical casual Korean barbecue spots by leaning into a more considered, refined presentation, with reviewers noting that dishes feel carefully prepared rather than thrown together for speed. Diners describe the overall meal as comforting yet surprisingly light, a combination not always easy to find in Korean cooking, though more than one reviewer jokes about the garlic aftermath the next day. Its 4.6 rating from 636 reviews and strong local score suggest it's become a genuine neighbourhood favourite in Hackney rather than a tourist-driven destination. The mid-range pricing and lunch-or-dinner flexibility make it a good choice for a relaxed but slightly elevated Korean meal.

What people say
"Had a lovely dinner at Miga. The food was very good and everything felt carefully prepared, with a more refined feel than a casual Korean restaurant. We ordered the hwe, sweet potato glass noodles, galbijjim and samgyubsal. The hwe was fresh and clean tasting, especially with the chojang sauce. The sweet potato glass noodles had a lovely chewy texture and were very comforting. The galbijjim was probably my favourite dish, with tender soy braised short ribs and a rich, deep flavour. The samgyubsal was also very tasty, nicely cooked and served with a good sauce and vegetables. The portions were not huge, but the quality was definitely there. It is slightly on the expensive side, especially once the service charge is added, but the food was delicious and the whole meal felt well considered. A nice place for a special Korean dinner, and I would be happy to come back."
