Father Bernatek’s Bridge

4.8 ·

Cross Father Bernatek's Bridge, where bronze acrobats dangle above the walkway. Stroll its length between Kazimierz and Podgórze and watch the figures sway, especially after dark when the lights come on.

📖

Full description

Father Bernatek's Bridge is a pedestrianised crossing linking Kazimierz and Podgórze, decorated with sculptures of circus acrobats by artist Jerzy Kędziora that hang from ropes and sway in the wind. Reviewers like seeing it by night when the lighting adds to the effect, and also from the river on a boat trip.

The love-lock padlocks that once covered it have been removed, leaving the artwork visible. It is free, open all hours and needs only around 15 minutes.

Reviews

Really amazing brige portraying different kinds of circus performers. The statues are actually hanging in the ropes and move with the wind! If you go by night the lighting is amazing too
