Slip into Asiyan Museum, the former home of poet Tevfik Fikret overlooking the water. Stroll through the preserved rooms, then linger over the views in a setting that feels far from the crowds.
Full description
Asiyan Museum is the house in which the Turkish poet Tevfik Fikret lived between 1906 and 1915. The municipality bought it from his widow in 1940 and opened it in 1945 as the city's first literature museum.
Reviewers repeatedly highlight the peaceful atmosphere and the views from the grounds, and some describe the house as a trip back in time. It tends to be quiet on weekdays, with only a handful of visitors at midday.
An hour is enough, and the setting makes it a good fit for couples and slow-paced mornings.

So peaceful and interesting! Incredible location and views. We visited on a Tuesday around noon and there was only 1 or 2 other people there. We are "age 65 or over" so we got in free, even though we are foreign tourists, which was really nice.
