Full description

Museo Galileo displays artefacts from the 15th and 16th centuries onward, including scientific instruments and personal items tied to Galileo and the people around him. It presents the Renaissance through science rather than painting, and reviewers say the collection is rich and well displayed.

There are only a few interactive stations, so it rewards visitors who like to study objects closely. A free audio guide app is mentioned as a help in making sense of the pieces.

Plan on roughly 75 minutes and daytime hours, with the museum open until 18:00.

Reviews

It’s a good museum with multiple artifacts from Galileo and his contemporaries time. There are only three interactive displays. It would have been more fun to have more interactive displays given the field. If you have the Santa Croce Basilica ticket, you can get a reduced price.
