Loggia dei Lanzi

4.8 ·

Step under the arches of the Loggia dei Lanzi, Florence's free sculpture gallery beside the Uffizi. Look closely at the carved details and read the boards explaining each statue's story.

📖

Full description

Also called the Loggia della Signoria, this broad-arched fourteenth-century structure sits at the corner of Piazza della Signoria next to the Uffizi and serves as an open-air sculpture gallery. The statues inside are finely detailed, and information boards explain the story behind each work.

Reviewers appreciate that it is free to enter and always accessible, though some note that access to the raised platform has become more restricted in recent years. Colourful, busy and surrounded by art, it makes an easy short stop while exploring the square, and about fifteen minutes is enough to see the main pieces.
