Cenacolo di Santo Spirito

4.0 ·

Explore the Cenacolo di Santo Spirito, a 14th-century Gothic refectory in the Oltrarno. Browse the sculpture and artefacts donated by antique dealer Salvatore Romano in a calm, uncrowded hall.

📖

Full description

Reached through the Santo Spirito complex, this mid-14th-century Gothic refectory operates separately as the museum of the Fondazione Salvatore Romano. The collection comes from an antique dealer who donated roughly seventy pieces to Florence in 1946, displayed in the long vaulted hall.

Reviews are brief and modest, describing some interesting collections, so it works best as a quiet, low-key stop for those curious about lesser-known corners of the Oltrarno. A ticket for the Brancacci Chapel is reported to include entry here.
