The Stags Head

4.5 ·

Step into The Stags Head, a Victorian pub where chandeliers, granite and towering mirrors set the scene. Settle in for a pint of Guinness and a plate of fish and chips or beef and Guinness stew.

📖

Full description

The Stags Head is a Victorian-style Dublin pub whose interior of wrought-iron chandeliers, polished granite, old barrels and tall mirrors makes it one of the city's most photographed bars. Reviewers praise the kitchen as much as the setting, naming the fish and chips, the club sandwich and the beef and Guinness stew with Guinness bread.

The room fills with locals as well as visitors, giving it a traditional feel rather than a tourist-trap one. Open from late morning until night, it works equally well for lunch or a long evening pint.

Reviews

Great atmosphere, lovely and funny staff. The food was yum! Ordered the beef and Guinness stew and enjoyed every bit of it including the Guinness bread. Never knew there was anything like that. Highly recommended.
