The Spire

4.3 ·

Look up at the Spire, the slender 120-metre needle that dominates O'Connell Street. Take a few photos, meet friends beneath it and walk the avenue in either daylight or evening light.

📖

Full description

The Spire is a tapered stainless steel column reaching 120 metres, placed in the middle of O'Connell Street in Dublin's north city. It is visible from far down the street, which is why locals and visitors alike use it as a meeting point.

Reviewers recommend seeing it on a cloudy day or in the evening, when lighting shows on the steel. It is free, open at all hours and needs only a quick stop of about 15 minutes.

It pairs naturally with a walk along the surrounding avenue.

Reviews

Now this is a wow-bookmark, you're definitely going to see while visiting the city and it's best you do so in the evening, especially on a cloudy day (not hard at all) so you can see the lights show. Right in front of the Dublin Portal and next to airport express busses.
