Temple Bar

Dive into Temple Bar, Dublin's famous cobbled nightlife quarter beside the Liffey. Wander the narrow lanes past live-music pubs and street performers, then pick a doorway where a traditional session is under way.

📖

Full description

Temple Bar is a compact district of narrow cobbled lanes on the south bank of the Liffey, known for its dense concentration of pubs, live music venues, restaurants and street entertainers. It is lively from late afternoon into the small hours, with traditional Irish music sessions spilling out of many doorways.

Daytime offers a quieter side, including small galleries, independent shops and a food market on weekends. It can be crowded and pricey, but it remains the most recognisable nightlife area in Dublin and an easy place to sample Irish pub culture.
