Full description

The Royal Hibernian Academy of Arts is a contemporary-style gallery showing Irish and international modern art across several floors of spacious rooms. Reviewers say it is a good place to see emerging Irish artists, that exhibitions change often so there is usually something new, and that it is rarely crowded, which makes browsing at your own pace easy.

Paintings and sculpture feature, and the annual exhibition draws visitors from beyond Dublin, with a low-cost catalogue available for purchase. Entry is free and a typical visit takes around 45 minutes, making it an easy add-on to a day of sightseeing.

It is closed on Mondays.

Reviews

Great gallery with contemporary art :) Spacious and usually not very crowded, so can really enjoy it at your own pace. Exhibitions often change, meaning that almost every month you can find something interesting. Another plus that it’s free.
