Leinster House

4.3 ·

Pass by Leinster House, the Georgian palace where Ireland's parliament sits. Take in the building's formal facade and, if the timing is right, join an organised visit inside.

📖

Full description

Leinster House was built in 1745 as a ducal palace and is now the seat of the Oireachtas, Ireland's parliament. The Georgian building is the centre of Irish democracy, and its exterior can be viewed from the street at any time.

Interior access is limited: reviewers describe seeing the halls during Culture Night or on organised group visits, which they found educational. For most visitors it is a quick architectural and political stop of about 15 minutes in a central location.

Reviews

Came here under recommendation a coworker during my study abroad and internship program back in 2014. So much history and culture that I learned here and it was great learning the history of Ireland and its government. Bashful place for sure!
