Frederik's Church

4.6 ·

Step inside Frederik's Church, the Marble Church beneath Scandinavia's biggest dome. Admire the soaring circular interior, and if timing allows, join one of the small dome visits for a view over central Copenhagen.

📖

Full description

Known as the Marble Church, Frederik's Church is an 18th-century Lutheran church whose green copper dome is the largest in Scandinavia and a fixture of Copenhagen's skyline. Visitors enter the circular interior for free, and a statue of Kierkegaard stands in the grounds outside.

Reviewers highlight the monumental architecture and elegant interior, and many climb the dome when it is open, though only a small group is admitted at fixed times. Its central location makes it a natural stop between nearby landmarks.

Reviews

A must see! Beautiful and very popular. Visit the Dome but make sure you come early. They only let 15 people per day. Availed every 1:30pm! But the church is open to public.
