Church of Our Saviour

4.6 ·

Climb the Church of Our Saviour, whose spire is wrapped by an exterior spiral staircase. Work up the 400 steps to a narrow summit with panoramic views across Copenhagen's rooftops and harbour.

📖

Full description

The Church of Our Saviour is a baroque church known for the spiral staircase winding around the outside of its spire. Visitors climb roughly 400 steps, with the stairway narrowing as it rises, until they reach a tiny platform at the top with views over the whole city.

Reviewers report that pre-booking is not needed and queues can be short, and that sunset is a favourite time to go. The church also has a carillon and a richly decorated interior.

Allow about 45 minutes, and note the climb is not suited to anyone uneasy with heights or narrow spaces.

Reviews

Great view, its 90m tall with 400 steps. You can get the whole city view from here. The staircase gets narrower as you climb up. Only one person can stand at the top and its kind of scary when its windy. Please book your time slot even if you have the Copengagen Card.
