Christiania is a self-declared autonomous community set on former military grounds, with cobbled, winding lanes, hand-built homes, gardens, workshops, and street art. Visitors walk through freely, passing small shops, cafés, and creative projects that give the area a sense of an ongoing social experiment.

The mood shifts with the hour: around midday it is busy with visitors, while quieter times can feel more eerie. It is closer to an open-air neighbourhood walk than a formal sight, and rewards slow wandering.

It's a bit eerie at times and reviews scare you about not to go there when few people are outside. Around noon there's a plenty of tourists around exploring the place so it's wiser to tag along with them if you're solo. It was interesting to see
