Discover Bispebjerg Cemetery, a quiet landscaped garden of cherry trees and clipped topiary. Follow its maze-like paths past artworks and war memorials, with squirrels for company.
Full description
Bispebjerg Cemetery spreads over a wide area in the Bispebjerg district and feels more like a designed garden than a conventional graveyard. Visitors describe cherry trees, intricate topiary, flower beds and maze-like pathways dotted with artworks, along with memorials to soldiers who fell in the wars and a nearby church.
Squirrels and large shady trees add to the calm atmosphere, and benches allow rests along the way. It is well suited to a thirty-minute stroll on foot or by bike for visitors looking for a quiet, less-visited corner of Copenhagen.
