Liberty Square

4.6 ·

Take a breather in Liberty Square, a leafy open space in the heart of Budapest's Lipótváros. Wander the paths past its statues and monuments, or settle on a bench while children play nearby.

📖

Full description

Liberty Square is an open green space in Budapest's Lipótváros district, laid out with paths, benches and a children's play area. It is known for its statues and memorials, including a figure of Ronald Reagan, and for the way it brings political history into a relaxed public setting.

The square also hosts occasional festivals and, in major tournaments, public screenings of football matches where visitors can bring their own drinks, though food on site can be pricey. It is a calm place to rest between sightseeing stops in the centre.
