À La Mort Subite

4.3 ·

Discover À La Mort Subite, a Brussels beer café that has kept its art deco looks since 1928. Settle under the arched mirrors with a lambic or gueuze and take in the old-school atmosphere.

📖

Full description

À La Mort Subite has served beer in the centre of Brussels since 1928, and its art deco interior of arched mirrors, pillars and brass pipes is the main reason visitors come. It is a traditional address for lambic and gueuze beers, with old-fashioned wooden furnishings and a long opening day that covers lunch through the evening.

Reviewers praise the atmosphere, the friendly staff and the food, while noting that beer prices run high by local standards and that bills are not split. It suits a historic stop rather than a bargain round.

Reviews

My new favourite cafe in Brussels. Full of History and charm and home to lambic and gueze beers! I enjoy the old school ambiance and art deco interiors. The staff are extremely friendly and experienced. Lots of space inside too. Equally popular amongst young and old crowd. Its a comfort place to be.
