Step inside the Eugenides Foundation planetarium, where a vast dome turns the ceiling into outer space. Settle into a seat and watch a 40-minute 3D film on Earth, solar storms or the solar system.
Full description
The Eugenides Foundation planetarium projects digital space films onto an enormous spherical dome, with 3D and IMAX-format titles covering topics such as the story of Earth and solar storms. Shows last about 40 minutes and are scheduled about 30 minutes apart, so it is easy to fit in two back to back.
Visitors note the clean, cool building, the cheap cafeteria snacks and the audio headsets that provide English translation for Greek-language films. It makes a good break from the heat and is especially well suited to children and pre-teens.
