Full description

Standing on Dam Square, the Royal Palace has served as a royal residence and reception venue since 1808, and it still hosts official ceremonies and political visits, so its rooms remain in working use. Visitors walk through grand halls and elegantly furnished chambers with period-correct furniture, following a self-guided audio tour that sets the interiors in context.

Reviewers highlight the architecture, the sense of moving through different eras, and the fact that important events still happen here. Plan about 90 minutes, and expect occasional closures when the palace is needed for royal business.

Reviews

Arrived at 10:30 it was very quiet and easy to walk. After 1 h when we were leaving there was a long queue and many people so I recommend arriving early. Very lovely palace with impressive architecture
