📖

Full description

Palais Ferstel is a mid-19th-century mansion that houses event rooms, a landmark cafe and one of the city's prettiest covered passages. Visitors praise the passage for its old-style design, quiet atmosphere and the long view down its length, along with small shops and cafes on the ground floor.

Upstairs the ballroom is used for galas and is described as opulent. The cafe was once a hangout of Sigmund Freud and Trotsky.

Entering the passage is free, and a visit usually takes around 20 minutes, longer if you stop for coffee.
