📖

Full description

The Literaturmuseum of the Österreichische Nationalbibliothek tells the story of Austrian writing across two floors of exhibition space in the Innere Stadt. Displays combine manuscripts, personal belongings and themed stories that connect literature with music and politics.

Reviewers describe the rooms as clean, well designed and staffed by helpful people, and note that it is rarely crowded. The labelling is mostly in German, so non-German speakers get more from the atmosphere and artefacts than from the text.

A short, quiet stop that suits readers and anyone curious about Austrian authors.

Reviews

Totally dive into literacy stuff, but haven't get to know about Austrian Literature. The museum has many stories related to music and politics, it was amazing, but sadly there were no English subtitles, so for non German speakers it's better for an audio guide.
