📖

Full description

The Jesuit Church, also called the University Church, stands on Dr.-Ignaz-Seipel-Platz a short walk from St. Stephen's Cathedral.

Its restrained exterior gives little away, but inside the walls and columns are clad in pink and green marble beneath frescoed ceilings. It dates from the 1623 reordering of Vienna's university, when the Jesuits took over Theology and Philosophy.

Reviewers mention it has become popular online as a hidden gem despite its central position. Entry is free and a visit takes around fifteen minutes.
