Spend time at Parco San Giuliano, a spacious lagoon-side park beside Mestre. Walk or cycle its long paths, look across the water toward Venice, and stop at a bar or playground.
Full description
Parco San Giuliano is one of the biggest green spaces on the Venice mainland, near Mestre and the lagoon shore. Wide paths suit walking and cycling, bikes can be rented on site, and there are drinking fountains, toilets, a children's play area and two bars.
Views across the Venetian Lagoon take in the city skyline in the distance. Families and local joggers make up much of the crowd, and the park stays open late, until 22:00.
Allow around 90 minutes for a proper walk, more if you cycle.
