The Bethlehem Chapel

4.6 ·

Step into the Bethlehem Chapel, where Jan Hus once preached to Prague's crowds. Walk the restored hall, read the displays on the Czech reformer and hear the story behind this quiet Old Town landmark.

📖

Full description

The Bethlehem Chapel in Staré Město is a reconstruction of the 14th-century church where Czech reformer Jan Hus delivered his sermons in Czech. Restored in the 1950s, the large hall is plain in the way of a preaching space, with wall inscriptions, paintings and an organ along the way in.

Reviewers describe it as a quiet, affordable stop away from the busiest squares, mentioning an English-speaking guide and informative panels that explain Hus's role in Czech history. A visit takes roughly half an hour and suits those interested in the story of the Czech Reformation.

Reviews

Interesting and beautiful place - a hidden gem in a heart of Prague! Entrance prices are reasonable and less than 5 euro. There is a nice guide (male) who speaks very good English. There are also information leaflets about the Chapel in many languages. Really worth a visit
