📖

Full description

The Convent of St. Agnes is a 13th-century Gothic monastery in Staré Město that now holds the National Gallery's medieval art, with paintings and statues displayed in atmospheric surroundings.

Reviewers highlight the lack of crowds, the quiet gardens and the strength of the medieval Christian painting collection. The ground level and gardens can be visited without a paid ticket, which makes a short look easy even on a tight schedule, and there are activities for kids.

The architecture is as much of an attraction as the exhibits.

Reviews

I hesitate to write good reviews about the place, as I enjoyed the lack of the crowds of tourists, but my strong recommendation to take a visit. Mind blowing selection of medieval Christian paintings and stunning architecture. Good quality cafeteria/brunch inside too.
