Head to the Porto Tram Museum, set in the old Massarelos power station. Walk among restored electric trams and read English displays tracing how the city's tram network grew.
Full description
Porto Tram Museum occupies the former Massarelos thermal power station, a few kilometres from the city centre, and presents the development of electric trams in the Porto area. Restored trams are well spaced for viewing, with information in English, and the exhibits extend beyond trams to related transport and power history.
Reviewers found it uncrowded even on a Saturday and especially rewarding for transport enthusiasts, while families also enjoy it. An hour covers it comfortably.

Great museum displaying and explaining the development of electric tram services in the Porto area. Very accessible and all trams well spaced out for viewing. Information displayed in English as well as Portuguese. Combine visit with trip on one of the old heritage electric trams which shuttle along the riverside.
