Casa da Música is a 12-floor concert hall designed by Rem Koolhaas, its faceted white concrete form standing apart from the rest of Porto's skyline. Inside, the main auditorium is praised for its acoustics and hosts everything from symphonic programmes to contemporary music.

The building rewards visitors even without a ticket, thanks to its daytime opening hours, a restaurant on the top floor and a café serving breakfast and pastries. It sits slightly outside the historic centre, making it an easy detour for architecture lovers.

Reviews

A little bit away from most of the main tourist spots but if you love modern architecture, this is a must visit. A very unique construction that uses light sound and raw materials to emphasise the experience of a live show. You can book tickets to take a self guided tour around the building, it was amazing!
