Pause at the Villa Masséna, a belle époque mansion steps from Nice's promenade. Tour its ornate rooms, see Riviera art and Napoleon's death mask, then relax in the quiet gardens.

📖

Full description

Villa Masséna is a richly decorated belle époque mansion close to Nice's seafront promenade, now a museum of Riviera art and history. Its rooms are preserved in lavish style across several floors, with paintings and artifacts relating to the region, including Napoleon's death mask.

Reviewers praise the sumptuous first floor and the cool interior on hot days, while the surrounding gardens offer a quiet pause. Opinions on the displays vary, but the building itself is the main attraction.

An hour is a comfortable visit, and it is a natural stop for couples and anyone strolling the promenade.

Reviews

While out for a stroll on the promenade during our vacation, we came across this magnificent museum. The first floor is sumptuous, and the following ones are just as beautiful. The artworks are beautifully presented. There is also a temporary exhibition on the top floor
