Discover Villa Arson, a 1960s art school and contemporary arts centre perched above Nice. Wander the concrete architecture, see current exhibitions, and finish in the olive-tree gardens looking out over the city.
Full description
Villa Arson combines a contemporary art centre and an art school within a distinctive 1960s architectural complex on a hillside estate. Exhibitions, workshops, performances and tours run through the year, and student showcases bring extra activity at the end of the school year.
The gardens, planted with very old olive trees, and the views across Nice are a draw in themselves, and reviewers note the special atmosphere created by the building's original design. It sits well outside the usual tourist circuit, so it appeals to visitors who enjoy architecture, experimental art and quieter surroundings.
Afternoons are the best time to visit.

I came to see a Sunday afternoon performance in the auditorium called 'L'homme mobile'. I can tell the children really enjoyed it. The garden is beautiful with very old olives trees.
