The Palais de Justice has stood in the centre of its namesake square in Nice's Old Town for more than 130 years and still houses the city's courts and tribunals. Most visitors come for the setting rather than the interior: the square is busy throughout the day, with free chairs and benches, surrounding shops, and cafés.

On Saturdays it often hosts markets, from old books and vinyl to arts and crafts sales. It works as a quick look at the facade and a relaxed stop between Old Town wanderings.
