Cathédrale Sainte-Réparate de Nice

4.6 ·

Step into Sainte-Réparate, the Baroque cathedral on Place Rossetti in Nice's Old Town. Admire its colourful chapels and altar before rejoining the square's cafés.

📖

Full description

Sainte-Réparate stands on Place Rossetti in the middle of Vieux Nice, its colourful Baroque facade drawing visitors in from the surrounding cafés. Established in 1699 and raised to the status of basilica in 1949, it contains paintings, three organs and an altar holding the remains of the martyred Saint Reparata.

Reviewers describe the interior as peaceful and more impressive than the exterior suggests, with elegant side chapels. The visit is brief and free, and fits naturally into an Old Town walk, often combined with an ice cream at the nearby square.

Reviews

Came to know that it is a Baroque cathedral, just in the heart of the Nice Ville. Very good looking worshipping place with some good architecture. Lots of restaurants were outside. But the inside was calm and quiet.
