Pop into St. Paul, a Gothic Revival limestone church near Munich's central station. Admire the bright interior, and if the tower is open, climb up for a view over the city.
Full description
St. Paul is a Catholic church in the Ludwigsvorstadt-Isarvorstadt district built in the Gothic Revival style from limestone.
It was badly damaged in the Second World War and rebuilt, and suffered another incident in 1960 involving an aircraft. Visitors describe the interior as light and open, and some have been able to go up to the roof.
Its tower and observation deck are open during Oktoberfest. It is close to the train station, so it makes an easy stop on arrival or departure.
