Explore Olympiapark, the landmark built for Munich's 1972 Olympic Games. Wander past the preserved 1970s architecture, join a guided tour, and take in the open lawns and venues that are still in daily use.

📖

Full description

Olympiapark was created for the 1972 Summer Olympics and remains an active venue, with its stadium, halls and landscaped grounds still in use for sport, concerts and festivals such as Tollwood. The 1970s architecture has been preserved so visitors can see the original design, and guided tours explain the site.

Attractions on the grounds include a sea life centre and a rock museum, while the wide lawns and hills invite walking and picnics. Allow roughly two and a half hours to cover the main sights at an easy pace.

Reviews

I went to the Tollwood festival in the park and it was packed with people, shops, delicious food, arts... You name it. It's a very nice experience and a great place to go. Since there were FIFA games, the game was playing on a big screen and people were sitting on the grass and watching the game. It was such a nice…
