Head out to the MVG Museum in Ramersdorf-Perlach to see how Munich moved. Walk among historic trams and buses, work vehicles, uniforms and signage, plus whatever temporary exhibition is on.
Full description
Located in Ramersdorf-Perlach, the MVG Museum houses Munich's local transport heritage: a large collection of old trams and buses, the vehicles used to maintain them, and displays of uniforms and signage. Temporary exhibitions round out the offering, and one on space was called very exciting by a visitor.
Reviewers consider it a good outing for children, while adults who prefer reading to looking may find the information panels a little dry. Open days sometimes run special tram services that stop at the museum's front door, and it is closed on Mondays.

I was glad I found out about this place on my last day in Munich, which also happened to be one of the open days. How great to take a dedicated tram right to the front door. Great collection of Munich’s public transport history. I especially enjoyed the upstairs artwork gallery.
