📖

Full description

Monacensia, in the leafy district of Bogenhausen, is a library and literary archive devoted to Munich's history and writers. Visitors describe a cosy atmosphere, with historical documentation on the Mann family, a special exhibition on the first floor and a café in the winter garden.

Study rooms, lockers and toilets are available downstairs, and a local reviewer used it as a quiet refuge on hot summer days. Admission is free and a visit of about 45 minutes is typical, making it a calm, low-key stop away from the central museum crowds.
