Chiesa di Sant'Alessandro in Zebedia

4.6 ·

Seek out Chiesa di Sant'Alessandro in Zebedia, a quiet baroque church tucked off the main routes. Take in its twin bell towers and statues from the square, then step inside for a calm daytime visit.

📖

Full description

Chiesa di Sant'Alessandro in Zebedia was built in 1601 on the site of an earlier church of the Barnabites, and its scenographic façade, flanked by two bell towers and decorated with statues and bas-reliefs, fills the little square in front of it. Reviewers call it beautiful and peaceful, and a pleasant discovery in a nice part of the centre.

The façade has been covered for renovation at times, so what you see outside may vary. Inside, lighting is limited after dark, so it is better seen in daylight.

A visit takes around 20 minutes.

Reviews

Church is under renovation. You can enter but the front of it is covered. No inside lighting at night so try and go during the day
