Stretch your legs at Parque Forestal de Valdebebas, one of Madrid's biggest green spaces. Walk or cycle past lagoons and the river, and let the kids loose in the playgrounds and maze.
Full description
Parque Forestal de Valdebebas - Felipe VI is one of Madrid's largest recent parks, covering around 340 hectares in the Hortaleza district. Artificial lagoons and a river thread through it, and long trails suit cycling, running and extended walks.
Playgrounds, slides and a hedge maze make it a draw for families. Reviewers note that distances are long and services along the way are scarce, though the trees offer reasonable shade.
Visitors describe it as a good place for a long winter walk or a bike ride away from the busier central parks.

Beautiful park to walk and enjoy nature. We’ve been there in winter and we enjoyed a long walk. It’s a good place to ride a bike, run or walk. Throughout the park you’ll see signals explaining the different trees and vegetation over there. I just think in summer, the shadows from trees might not be the best to avoid…
