Stop by the Mint Museum in Madrid's Salamanca district, a free museum devoted to money. See banknotes, stamps and old coin-making machines in galleries larger than they first appear.
Full description
The Mint Museum presents the history of money and printing through a free exhibition on global currencies, historic banknotes, stamps and vintage coin-making machinery. Reviewers were surprised by how large it is and how extensive the collections are, with no admission fee and no queues.
Guides are mentioned as friendly, and the architecture of the buildings gets praise too. One visitor found it a bit plain in presentation, but still informative and worth the time when you have a gap in the day.
Around an hour is enough, and its short Saturday hours (to 14:00) are worth planning around.

Reviews
It was a nice museum and we had a sweet tour guide. Only 4/5 because it is what it is without a lot of flare. If you have free time the I formation was interesting and it’s worth a visit especially since it’s free.
