Walk the Manzanares River Linear Park in Puente de Vallecas, where a giant sculpture tops a terraced hill. Climb for city and river views, then settle on the grass in a quiet, mostly local setting.
Full description
This stretch of the Manzanares linear park in Puente de Vallecas is known for a huge sculpture crowning a terraced hillside, with an amphitheatre and open views around it. It draws mostly locals for walks, picnics and exercise, and reviewers contrast its calm with the crowds of Retiro.
The river runs alongside, and the small hill behind the sculpture gives a slightly higher vantage. Summer evenings, early mornings and spring or autumn are the pleasant times to visit, with around seventy-five minutes enough for a walk and a rest on the grass.

Awesome park! It's a great place to just have a walk & to do a picnic. Very quite & clean. The best time to go is in the evenings & early mornings of summer, & also during spring & fall. Good place to do some running as well. It's a kid friendly park. Worth to visit if you're up to parks.
